Terms

We have a four-step process for clients interested in commissioning a custom designed piece.

One

Once you contact us, we provide a free consultation to discuss your concept, materials, cost and time frame. At your discretion the consult may include a visit to your location or your visit to our shop.

This step may be completed in a day, or it may take whatever time needed to fully consult with you on project design, wood species to be used, project coloration and finish, and required hardware such as drawer pulls and hinges.

Two

When you decide to proceed, we provide a written Commission Agreement that includes:

  • Complete project description
  • Drawings, as needed
  • Scale model, if appropriate
  • Your approval of hardware such as drawer pulls, latches, hinges, etc., as needed
  • Your approval of wood samples, if needed
  • Your approval of stain (if needed) and your approval of finish on samples cut from wood used on your project. Wood Works uses environmentally friendly water-based stains and top coats on finishes requiring spray finishes.
  • Price quote
  • Completion schedule

Three

When you approve the written Commission Agreement, Wood Works requires a 50 percent down payment to proceed.

We'll provide updates and photos of the work in progress, if you like.

Four

Payment of balance is due upon delivery, or in advance including shipping fees for pieces delivered outside the greater Tucson area.

Wood Works provides free delivery in the greater Tucson area. Delivery outside this area requires an additional shipping fee.
