Chairs made of mesquite, the Southwest's signature wood, are most frrequently executed in a Spanish colonial or Mexican rustic style. For this set, however, Wood Works used a classical Chippendale design - flared rear legs and a seat that is wider in front than at the back.
Mortise and tenon joinery is used throughout and the seat rails are strengthened with corner braces. The seat is of frame and web construction to maximize comfort.
Dimensions: Rear legs 40 inches high; seat 19 inches high, 21 inches wide in front, 17 inches wide at rear. Finish: six coats of tung oil.
