This dining table is based on a classically traditional design suggested by the client and executed by Wood Works. The dimensions - 30 inches high, 44 inches deep and 64 inches wide - were set to fit with the maximum utility in the client's dining space. The top, with breadboard ends, is made from three planks of cherry all cut from the same wide board to assure color consistency. The legs are made of 4 X 4 inch solid cherry. The aprons are made of curly cherry. Braces are bolted into the four corners. The entire piece is finished with an undercoat of sealer, a light wild cherry stain, one coat of shellac and three coats of water-based spray lacquer. Woods Works maintains a stock of hand selected wide cherry boards and has additional boards railroaded in from Pennsayvania sawmills as needed.
